She is Executive Director of Really Spicy Opera, co-director of its Aria Institute for composers and librettists, and founder of Opera on the Lake.

Anne Wieben is a Vienna-based American soprano known for her charismatic stage presence and vivid artistry within the heart of Europe, the United States, and internationally. Her career has led her to the Wiener Staatsoper, the Salzburg Festival, and many more, with a dynamic repertoire that spans from canonical works to contemporary opera and immersive performance art. Anne’s portrayals of Mozart’s heroines and Viennese operetta have been the subject of critical acclaim, with the Kronen Zeitung personifying her as a “true diva.”
Recent highlights include Wotan in Götterdämmerung at Nesterval with the Wiener Staatsoper, Anastasia Knapp in Fürstin Ninetta at the Johann Strauss Festival, Sylva Varescu in Die Csárdásfürstin with the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra at the Classionata Festival in Switzerland, and Annina in La Traviata with Prague Concert Opera. Her other notable roles include Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Hanna Glawari in Die lustige Witwe, and the title role in Anton Urspruch’s Das Unmöglichste von Allem, and covered the title role of Cherubini’s Médée at the Salzburg Festival.
